Like New ..

We are in the midst of transforming the boys room ... it's taking longer then I would like because I am having a hard time deciding on bedding!  And until I decide on bedding everything else it at a stand still.

We decided on the new beds and a new dresser for them and luckily right before I ordered everything ... Ray's Dad coincidentally asked if we wanted a dresser and a desk.  At first I was hesitant because it wasn't really our style w/the old 80's paint look and I wasn't real successful in my past attempt at a dresser make over.  But, I thought the boys would like to have their Uncle Robert's old furniture and they looked brand new, so what the heck ... I'll give a whirl [but this time with the help of Ray's handy Aunt Tati]!!

& if I do say so myself ... they turned out awesome!  Pictures don't really do them justice [although they do show a couple of touch up jobs I need to do - lOl]!

I didn't think to take pixs until we had already started, but you get the idea

Tati happend to have an old desk chair ... she painted for the boys!
& the new dresser with new knobs
 & the desk

Grand total of about $25 & they are like new!  They boys love the new furniture!

Birthday present complete

For Alliyah's birthday she got a new bedroom. Oh, and she got a new scooter, but mostly because I knew she wasn't going to have new room done on time [in fact, two months over due]!

The girls used to have bunk beds [Kailee loved them], but they were such a pain in the butt to make ... plus they took up too much room. We opted for a trundle bed instead, so the second bed is tucked away until it's needed!

I couldn't find a memo board that matched just right, so I made one [way easy]! Well, expect the sewing part, so not a seamstress. I like the way in turned out none the less!

I needed something on the first wall, but it couldn't be too busy. So I came up with the hanging flower pots [you'll either love 'em or hate 'em], but I thought it was pretty unique!

Circle wall decals! Way easier then painting 5 million [or so] dots! =)

We need to get one more little bookcase, and it will be totally done! I think I've decided on one at Ikea! Alliyah is totally enjoying her room, she says she's never leaving! Can't wait for Kailee to see it! Thank goodness these kids have a playroom, or I don't know what I would do! =)

Damon & Justin's Speedway

The boys' room has been done for a while now, but I thought I would post some pictures because the girls' room will finally be done tomorrow [the second part to their bed just came in], so I'll be posting pictures of that very soon!!

I wanted to try and put a twist on a very common boy theme ... not sure if I totally accomplished that, but the boys seem to like it anyway! I still haven't been able to find a toddler sized solid colored comforted or quilt that I like for Damon's bed, so keep an eye out!!
